Recently there have been huge number of downloads on a Firefox add on FIRESHEEP that is claimed to steal users informations on open networks by a method called cookie hijacking
What is Firesheep:
Firesheep is an extension for the Firefox web browser that uses a packet sniffer to intercept unencrypted cookies from websites such as Facebook and Twitter
How does the trick work :
1 Download Firesheep Firefox extension.This is a freeware extension for firefox browser.
2. Once installed it will open a sidebar window into your firefox browser.
3. Then it will show all the people who are connected to unsecured wifi network.
Once they log In . In your facebook or twitter account you will get a notification

Just click and follow the on screen steps to log into there accounts.
Cookies store basic user informations such as usernames , passwords , bank accounts etc .
And on an open and unsecured network the cookies session can be hacked easily .
