Preserving power consumption especially for mobile PC users can be a bit challenging . Analyze the system for common energy-efficiency and battery life problems is possible through the use of Windows 7 Power Configuration Utility . Run from a command line this utility will generate an energy report that lists all sources causing your computer battery to drain faster .
To create your energy report :
1 : Open Command Prompt as Administrator
Go to Start menu and type cmd on the search box , right click on cmd and select run as administrator
2 : Type this code below
powercfg –energy 
3: This will let the system run the tests and create an analyzed report that will be saved in an HTML format file
You can either use either of this methods to view the report
1 . On the command prompt type
energy-report.html . This will open the report in your default browser
2. By navigating to the directory address that was displayed after the command line
When you open the report, you will find Power efficiency report broken down into Errors, Warnings, and Information .
